            The Best of Travel 2016

I just wanted to share my travel highlights of the past 12 months (click on the thumbnail above). Spring time in Italy was great.  I stayed with my friend in Rome and took short trips with my friend to Southern part of Italy and Tuscany, and explored other parts of Italy on my own.  I spent a whole week in the Lombardi region and Milan and had a great cultural experience, exploring the place as an adult like going to the museums and the opera (La Scala) for the first time.

In late spring and summer, I went to the Baltic - Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Russia, Germany.  It was great to discover Baltic Germany and really enjoyed Copenhagen.  I had a mishap in Stockholm, Sweden.

In late summer I went on a seven-state tour exploring USA National Parks.  The year was capped off with a trip to Ireland in late autumn.  I was expecting the worst rain in Ireland in November, but the weather turned out to be perfect,  It only rained after a visit to the Cliffs of Moher.

To be honest, South Korea has not been on my list of places to see before I die.  I've set foot on South Korean soil just to kill time while waiting for my flight to some place else.  After a 13-year old relative told me that she preferred Seoul, So. Korea than New York, I thought I'd look into what made South Korea a popular destination for millennials.   To get some perspective, I asked another relative, Rose, to share her Vlogs on this platform.

            Dear readers,

I apologize for my lack of posts. My absence is due to a need for a break.

A break to reflect and gain inspiration, for the goal of creating a strategy for this platform's long-term vision.

The girl that founded this blog seven years ago has changed through her experiences transitioning from teens to twenties, and has gained a few insights of her own. The woman she is become today is not reflected in the current state of heydahye.com.

I want the content published online, open to the world to see, to be valuable.

            Meaningful. Engaging. Provoking.

The time you give on this website should give something back to you.

I am happy to say that this month-long hiatus has been successful. I am inspired, and have a clear vision on the path to take moving forward. I am working on a new platform, new branding, and most importantly, a new message that makes my heart EXCITED!

I hope you feel the excitement with me.

I will see you in January 2018.

            Road Trip: Canadian Rockies

            Road Trip: Canadian Rockies

by noreply@blogger.com (Alice Odena) @ Green Caviar Travel Blog

One of my travel goals this year was to visit more National Parks.  So when a relative invited me (more like I invited myself) to join them on a road trip to the Canadian Rockies, I did not pass up on the opportunity.  As it turned out, it's one of the most unforgettable road trips I've had experienced.  If I were to blog about the road trip, I could sum it up in a few words:  We passed through 250 kilometers of one of the world's most scenic highways flanked by firs and spruce forests, and an unbroken panorama of massive rocky mountains, turquoise rivers, and lakes, waterfalls, and glacier-topped peaks that linked Banff, Jasper, and Yoho National Parks. So instead of writing about the trip, I decided to do a Vlog so my followers can enjoy the views.

Our Canadian Rockies road trip actually started in Calgary International Airport.  I met up with relatives and friends, who drove from Edmonton to Calgary, to pick me up from the airport.  Then we headed to the hotel and Banff town center for lunch and spent the rest of the day in Banff enjoying the scenery and dipping in the upper hot spring pool until sunset.  So part 1 of my Vlog was actually filmed on day 2, on our drive from Banff to Lake Louise.

Part 2:  Columbia Icefield to Jasper Vlog
